The region

Briare is located at the very beginning of an extensive route to the Atlantic beaches, by way of the numerous chateaux of the Loire.  It is also within a few kilometres of many famous wine districts: Sancerre, Pouilly en Loire and Chablis.   famed for its gatronomy, the region boasts many regional specialities: tête de veau ravigote, crottin de chèvre chaud, friture de Loire, miel du getinais.
